What’s the difference between Wallet-as-a-Service and Bring Your Own Wallet?
With Wallet-as-a-Service, Visa provides the secure key-management technology and you remain your own custodian, with mint, burn, manage, transfer, and controls through VSP. With Bring Your Own Wallet, you keep your existing provider and use VSP to set up on-ramps and off-ramps; ongoing mint, burn and transfers run through your own provider.
Which blockchain networks does VSP support?
Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo today. Core controls (allowlists, maker/checker approvals, passkey signing) apply across them, with WaaS.
How do on-ramps and off-ramps work?
You get a dedicated virtual account, send funds by ACH or wire to on-ramp to Open USD, and off-ramp back to a linked bank account by ACH or wire.
What approval controls does VSP have?
With WaaS, VSP requires maker/checker dual approval on sensitive operations, signs with device-bound passkeys instead of shared credentials, and lets you allowlist destination wallets.
How does VSP relate to OpenUSD?
VSP is the access point for Open USD. Eligible clients can mint, burn and manage Open USD through VSP. Learn more about Open USD on the Open Standard site.
When is the API available?
The front-end portal and documentation are available now. API access is coming soon, so you can review the portal and specs and plan your integration ahead of time.
How do I get access?
A valid Visa Access ID and a Business Identification (BID) number issued by Visa are required. Your Visa Account Executive can help with this process. To get started, contact your Visa Account Representative.
